PAST EVENT
Sunday 28th of November 2010 - Festival of Speed
The Club has been invited to be involved in the Australian Festival of Speed event at Barbagallo Raceway. You will have a chance to see Mark Webber and the Red Bull F1 Team doing what they do best. You will also have a chance to drive your MX-5 up Jack’s Hill, the only dedicated hill climb track in the State, behind a pace car. To participate we need to put our cars on display, cars need to arrive between 7am and 8am so that we can be parked up and the display is ready for when the gates open for the general public at 9am. We can set up whatever club display we wish, sell merchandise, memberships etc.
The food and coffee vans will be open from 7am for breakfast and the bars will open later in the morning. The City of Wanneroo (COW) and the WASCC have a NO PORTABLE BBQ’S ALLOWED policy so if you are planning a sausage sizzle lunch for your members, bring a picnic instead!! COW and WASCC also do not allow BYO alcohol to be bought onto the premises. Please be responsible with your alcohol intake and remember if you have even one alcoholic drink you cannot drive in the Hill Climb.
The Program Highlights - as at 4 October 2010 - are as follows:

- Jack's Hill Climb Club Runs; Each club will get 2 runs up the hill BUT behind a pace car. This will be done at a reasonable speed and will give your club an idea of what the Hill Climb is like. There is a bonus to this being a parade in that you may take passengers!! All passengers MUST be in a seat belt, helmets are not required and the onus is on the driver that his car has good steering and brakes. Owing to CAMS regulations, this is the only way they can give us a go on the hill at no extra cost to you. The hill climb will run all day from approx 10am EXCEPT when the F1 car is on the main circuit. I am sure you will all want to see them doing their thing as will our officials. Once we have final numbers from your clubs we will let you know what time your turn on the hill will be. Further information will be sent out to each club by the end of October.
Please note that our clubs Funkhana Motorsport Event is also on this date. Members not planning to participate in the Funkhana and who would like to participate in the Festival of Speed should contact Aart as soon as possible so we can confirm our participation with the organisers.
