Friday 18th of September 2015 - MX-5 Alive Geographe Rally - Weekend Away

The 2015 Geographe Rally will take you over some of the better drives in the Geographe hinterlands and Jarrah forest whilst visiting some interesting places along the way. The degree of difficulty has been set relatively low so that you can enjoy the scenery while still having fun and a bit of a challenge. In fact, the whole Observation bit is optional if you just want to come along for the drive.

Participants make their own way down on the afternoon or evening of Friday the 18th. After you have checked in to you accommodation make your way to the Goose Beach Bar & Kitchen near the Busselton Jetty to catch up with your fellow Fivers over a drink from about 7:30 PM until about 9:30 PM.

The Geographe Rally starts on the morning of Saturday the 19th with an Observation Trial on good quality sealed public roads, well most are good quality, a few have some bumps and lumps... We stop for lunch at Hamelin Bay Wines before continuing via the Blackwood and Capel Valleys. We finish at the Historic Woonerup House; Joanne and Carol have arranged spit roasted pork, marinated beef, jacket potatoes, coleslaw, rolls and gravy for dinner. You need to bring your own drinks; being in the Margaret river wine region it should be easy to pick up some wine or beer

On Sunday the 20th there is a (optional) cruise back to Perth via some interesting back roads; we first head for Gnomesville, before we end at the Waroona Vintage Machinery Rally. From there is 110 km back to Perth.

Participants are to make their own accommodation arrangements so it is up to you if you want to stay in one of the local resorts, a B&B, a motel or try AirBNB.

Cost for Saturdays food at, and entry to, Wonnerup House is $15 per person.

Please RSVP by email to events@mx5club.com.au before 9 September if you want to be part of the Geographe Rally so we can make arrangements for the catering and we will send you additional information.
