Thursday 17th of March 2016 - Midweek Lunchtime Cruise – St Patricks Day

A midweek lunchtime cruise to celebrate Lá Fhéile Pádraig that commemorates Saint Patrick, the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. So get out your green clothes, because on 17 March everyone is Irish!

To celebrate this tribute to the Irish Alan Wallace, a man with Scottish ancestry driving a Porker, will take a bunch of Fives for a ride to an English pub!

We meet at The Roastery on the corner of Warton Road and Holmes Street, Southern River (Click here for a map) at about 10:00 for coffee and a chat. Enter the large rear car park via the narrow lane on the right just after Dan Murphy's off Holmes Street; you can’t access it from Warton Road.

We will depart at some ill-defined time after 10:30 for a spirited drive on some twisty roads in the Hills between Bedfordale and Bickley, arriving about noon at the little slice of England known as the Elizabethan Village Pub. Not exactly Irish for St. Pat's, but pretty close.
