Tuesday 2nd of April 2019 - Southern MX-5 - Albany “Field of Lights Tour

The Southern MX-5 has organised a group (12 cars / 21 people confirmed at 25th March) to go to Albany to see the "Field of Light". See http://www.fieldoflightalbany.com.au. This display ceases at the end of April.

The plan is to leave on Tuesday 2 April and return on the 4 April. This will involve two nights away.

Tuesday
Starting at the parking bay at the corner of Leslie Street and Waterside Drive, Mandurah. (On maps it may be shown as Waterside Drive Boat Ramp.) Start time is 8:00am. It would be appreciated if everyone could arrive from 7:30am onwards for the 8:00am start.

From our starting point we will travel to Collie and have a stop for coffee. From Collie the drive will continue to Kojonup for lunch. The route continues to Mt. Barker via Cranbrook. There will be an afternoon tea break is at the Porongrup Café. Following afternoon tea the route goes via Chester Pass Road to Albany. The first night's stay will be at the Le Grande Motel. Dinner is arranged at the Squid Shack at Emu Point Harbour. After dinner the group will travel to Mt. Clarence to see the “FIELD of LIGHTS’ before retiring to the motel for the night.

Wednesday
After breakfast at the motel the group drives to Denmark via Elleker on Lower Denmark Road for a coffee break in Denmark. The trip goes onward to Walpole via Mt. Shad forth for lunch at the Walpole Hotel. After Walpole the drive goes on to Pemberton for an overnight stay at the Karri Forest Motel. The motel does not have restaurant facilities, so the Pemberton Hotel is likely to be the best alternative for dinner.

Thursday
Breakfast will be at a suitable venue in Pemberton. After leaving Pemberton the next stop is at Nannup for morning coffee. The group will then drive the Nannup/Bailingup Rd to Bailingup, with a slight diversion at Kirup and onto Donnybrook for lunch. After Donnybrook to route goes to Lowden and through the Ferguson Valley to the Ferguson Valley Café for afternoon coffee. From the Ferguson Valley Cafe the route home is whatever is best for the individuals.
