Sunday 24th of October 2021 - Chidlow Tavern Drive for Breast Cancer

This is a new run added to the calendar in support of the Chidlow Tavern, a Proud Community Supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. (Chidlow Tavern)

We meet at the Midland Centrepoint Muzzbuzz (Click here to view a map) at 9:00am for a 9:30 am departure to arrive at the Chidlow Tavern just before 11 am. We will have a parking area at the Tavern for the MX-5’s and a table booking for lunch.

The Chidlow Tavern is inviting several local and national car and Motorbike clubs (and their family members) to participate in the event. The day will feature, live music from Crippled Chaos, a Car and Motorbike show, Best Dressed (think pink theme) Him & Her, Raffles, spot prizes, speeches and more. This is an event for the whole family and offers something for every sector of the community.

The Chidlow Tavern kindly requests that all vehicles taking part kindly donate $5 to The National Breast Cancer Foundation, via our fundraising page (Click Here) or in cash on the day.

About the Charity:

The National Breast Cancer Foundation states that “Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in Australia. Approximately 57 Australians are diagnosed each and every day. That equates to over 20,000 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

1 in 716 men are diagnosed in their lifetime.

In 2020, over 3000 Australians passed away from breast cancer including 33 males and 2997 females.

That is 8 females a day dying from the disease.

In the last 10 years, breast cancer diagnosis have increased by 38%.

Since the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) started funding in 1994, the five-year survival rates have improved from 76% to 91%.

We’ve come a long way. But there’s still progress to be made.

That’s why we’re committed to funding a broad spectrum of research to help understand risk factors, develop new ways to detect and treat breast cancer, improve quality of life for breast cancer patients, improve treatment outcomes and ultimately – save lives.

Our mission: Zero Deaths from breast cancer by 2030.”
