MX5 Alive Weekend Down South
Friday 21st-Sunday 23rd November
It’s on again, Dennis & Maree Courtney, long standing club members from Bunbury, are putting together a great package so they can show us their "special kind of paradise"; Bunbury and its hinterlands provide a wide variety of magnificent attractions connected by roads just built for sports touring. Roads that are off the normal tourist routes. Roads made famous in various Classic and Targa Rallies. Roads just as much fun at a more leisurely pace with the top down and a breeze in your hair and especially in springtime with warm weather and oodles of colour. The Observation Trials are approximately 100 Kilometres in both the morning and afternoon, won't be excessively difficult (no need for marriage counselling afterwards) and will have participants visiting some little known attractions along the better sports car roads in the south west. The cost of the package (excluding accommodation) is $110 per person and for this you get:
Friday Night Welcome BBQ (excluding drinks) after you make your own way down from Perth.
Saturday AM Snacks & goodies pack, Roadbooks and Maps for the Observation Trial.
Saturday PM Lunch Afternoon Tea at the finish of the rally including a wine tasting.
Saturday Night Presentation dinner (excluding drinks)
Sunday AM A visit to one of the largest private car collections in WA which is not normally open to the public so it's a bit special before you make your own way home in the afternoon.
Maree has booked accommodation at the Quest Apartments for 35 people at a low $48/person/night. This price is based on 3 and 2 bedroom apartments with the slightly different prices averaged out per person. For those on a budget you can arrange your own accommodation and one option across the road from the Quest Apartments is the Koombana Bay Holiday Resort where you can stay for around $36 - $39/person in a 3 bedroom shared chalet or even less if you are keen enough to pitch a tent. Both these options are within walking distance of the CBD (including the restaurant booked for Saturday night) and they have safe off road parking facilities.
If you want to be in it and have not already done so please RSVP to Social@MX5Club.com.au before 12 September.
