Sunday 25th of November 2012 - Dawn BreakFast Raid York / Avondale Discovery Farm

A drive for members who don’t mind rising a bit early for a spirited 109 km drive along some winding back roads to Saint’s Diner, a motorcycle friendly café, in York for brekkie.

From here you can either take to the Highway for the 97 km drive back to Perth or continue to the Beverley Harvest Festival at Avondale Discovery Farm.

Avondale Discovery Farm is a unique living agricultural museum and a modern working farm operated by the National Trust. They have invited us to put our cars on display in return for free entry (normally $10 pp) to the Beverley Harvest Festival; a unique annual event with lots of free entertainment and displays including the popular harvesting demonstrations in the paddock.

It is an opportunity to marvel at the magnitude of the wheat harvest in Western Australia, see Clydesdale horses in action, visit the machinery museum and historic homestead and enjoy some country hospitality.

We meet at McDonalds McCafé, Corner Great Eastern Highway and Lloyd Street, Midland at 7 am for a 7:30 am start. Please note that after you leave Macca’s in Midland there are no stops before York.

If you want to come along please register by email to Aart at events@mx5club.com.au before 18 November indicating if you are continuing on to Avondale Discovery Farm so I can confirm our group booking at Saint’s Diner and advise final numbers to the National Trust.
