Sunday 27th of July 2025 - Christmas in July at the Basso

Celebrate Christmas in July at the Basso aka the Bassendean Hotel! Come one, come all whether you’re naughty, nice, or somewhere in between.

Throw on your best ugly Christmas jumper, twinkly earrings or hey, even a Borat suit if you’re feeling brave (please, no photos) and decorate, baublate and tinselate your MX-sleigh.

Carol Chapman will be leading the convoy on a 107 km cruise through the hills and John will be our Santa for the day handing out the Secret Santa presents.

We have a table booked ready for us to devour the chef’s delicious roast of the day with bottomless trimmings! Think pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings, roasted potatoes and lashings of gravy for just $45pp — includes a glass of mulled wine on arrival to warm your festive spirit and a dessert to sweeten the deal.

There is an (optional) Secret Santa; let us know if you are participating and, if so, please gift wrap a present of $25 approximate value per car and bring it with you on the day. Elf Carol will collect them at the start point and Santa John will be handing out the Secret Santa presents at the Basso.

If you’d like to surprise your dearest, Elf Carol will bring her big red sack (it’s Santa-approved) so you can hide your present inside.

We meet near the Muzz Buzz at the Midland Centrepoint Shopping Centre at 309 Great Eastern Highway, Midland (click here to view a map) at 9 and depart at 9:30 am.
